As long as you don't think it will diminish your second play through experience, I might recommend finishing out your Cullen romance and then romancing Solas on your new playthrough Solas losing his love or dear friend would be a good catalyst for a redemption arc. They could do a special nod to the romance during the death scene. Choosing to kill Solas results in no redemption and a straight-forward adversarial experience. Solas dies either way.
